The premise of this project was to create an exhibition based on a person, place, or thing and then build elements to correspond with the identity built that would fit a museum exhibition.

The challenge of this project was creating a new identity based solely off the description of who Maya Angelou is rather than who we all know her to be. By doing extensive research and critical thinking a new branding and identity was formulated to conceptualize this piece.

Brand Purpose
The word EMERGENCE was adapted from verbs and adjectives used to describe and define both Maya Angelou and her work. The colors derived from the same means with the added gradient showing her fading in and out of all chapters of her life.
